Winter freeze and hurricane did a number on Florida's orange crop

The prices of oranges and orange juice will rise as Florida farmers produced a crop that in May was 60 percent below last year's levels. Marisa Zansler, director of economic market and research at the Florida Department of Citrus, pointed to a freeze in January 2022 and Hurricane Ian as significant factors in the production decline.
