Workers protest bill that would cut minimum wage hike in Alabama city

Fast food workers and supporters staged a protest in Alabama's state capital over proposed legislation that would disallow an increase in the minimum wage paid in Birmingham to $10.10 an hour. The Birmingham City Council voted to approve an increase within its jurisdiction. Alabama does not have its own set minimum, instead following the federal rate of $7.25.
