World’s Largest Buc-ee’s Opens in Texas

June 11, 2024

The small town of Luling, Texas, witnessed a grand event as the world’s largest Buc-ee’s travel center opened its doors to the public. This new location, boasting an impressive 75,000 square feet, replaces the city’s previous Buc-ee’s, offering an enhanced experience for travelers and locals alike. The center features 120 fueling positions, catering to the needs of countless road-trippers and commuters passing through the area.

The opening day was marked by an enthusiastic crowd, eager to explore the new facilities. Among the first to enter was Patrick O’Donnell, a dedicated fan from Pennsylvania, who made the inaugural purchase, setting the tone for a day filled with excitement and community spirit. Buc-ee’s employees, including food associate Jessie Groff and meat cutter Daron Richards, were busy stocking shelves and preparing food, ensuring everything was ready for the influx of customers.

Director of Operations Josh Smith played a pivotal role in the day’s events. He was seen mingling with customers and staff, handing out free shirts, and delivering a speech that was met with applause from the dedicated Buc-ee’s team. His appreciation for the staff’s hard work was evident, as they had prepared meticulously for this grand opening.

Inside the store, a wide array of Buc-ee’s merchandise was on display, from the signature Beaver Nuggets to metal Buc-ee’s cups and hot sauces. The food court buzzed with activity as employees like Monica Seeling wrapped sausage biscuits and Jose Angel stocked tacos. Kirby Knox handed out jerky samples, offering a taste of Buc-ee’s famed snacks.

A notable highlight of the day was the presence of Bucky the Beaver, Buc-ee’s beloved mascot, who posed for photos with fans and added to the festive atmosphere. Scott Rinkel was one of the many who captured this memorable moment, smiling broadly alongside Bucky. The atmosphere was further enlivened by customers like Christie and Michael Conley, who showcased their Buc-ee’s spirit by donning themed onesies while waiting in line.

The new Buc-ee’s travel center not only promises to be a haven for fueling up but also a destination for shopping and dining. Its opening has brought a sense of pride and excitement to Luling, drawing visitors from near and far. The combination of vast space, extensive amenities, and a welcoming atmosphere ensures that this Buc-ee’s location will be a popular stop for travelers for years to come.
