As reported by the Wall Street Journal, Zara will make use of robots in stores to retrieve orders for click-and-collect customers. When shoppers order online and pick up at Zara stores — said to be the case in one-third of the retailer's worldwide online ordering — they have at times faced long wait times when arriving for order pick-up. With the new system, customers will scan a code upon arrival. The robots will then grab the items from the back room and deposit them in a pick-up box for the customer.
