The Toronto Raptors, the current champions of the National Basketball Association, have introduced team-branded hijabs for sale where its merchandise is sold. The team claims to be the first to have introduced hijabs in the NBA. Inspiration for the head covering came from the Hijabi Ballers, a group that promotes participation by Muslim women in sports.
