Amazon growing its own delivery capability at astounding rate

A year ago, Amazon was delivering roughly 20 percent of its packages in the U.S. via its own fleet. That percentage has grown to 50 percent in the interim. While Amazon’s delivery fleet is only one fifth the size of UPS and Fedex, it has grown at an impressive rate by focusing of densely-populated urban and suburban areas, whereas its competitors must make a greater percentage of much less efficient rural trips.
