Holiday guests know they’re not supposed to talk about politics or religion, but inevitably, tense discussions break out. More precisely, arguments are most likely to occur at 6:30 pm on Christmas Day, according to Amazon’s research. Concerned by this finding, Amazon has trained Alexa to step in with welcome distractions. Guests can simply say, “Alexa, change the subject” and the voice-activated device will divert the conversation to questions such as, “What would your superpower be and why?” and “Is ‘Die Hard’ a Christmas movie?” (But wait, is that a religious question?)
