San Francisco coffee cafes finding alternatives to disposable cups

Blue Bottle Coffee, a Bay Area-based chain now with 70 stores nationwide, is among a number of coffee purveyors in the San Francisco area instituting zero waste policies and banning disposable cups. Blue Bottle, starting with two stores, is asking customers to either bring their own coffee cups or to put down a deposit fee (probably between $3 – $5) on a reusable cup.
