Shake Shack hits pause on new restaurants

Shake Shack saw its same-store sales fall 12.8 percent during the first quarter as 78 of the chain’s 287 stores had to temporarily close for business in response to the coronavirus. The chain, which had expected to open as many as 67 new restaurants this year, has decided to postpone any new development at this time.
