Penney begins liquidating stock at 136 stores

J.C. Penney estimated earlier this month that it would close 154 stores as part of its bankruptcy plan. That number is now recalculated at 136, and all locations will be open and will have “all merchandise … on sale” at 25 – 40 percent discounts. Management said that sales will be final after June 25th.
