Experts urge Americans to get flu shots and avoid a ‘twindemic’

There is no current scientifically proven vaccine for COVID-19 available, but there is one for influenza. Public health experts and epidemiologists are strongly recommending that Americans get the vaccine in an effort to protect themselves and to avoid large numbers of people with the flu from having to be hospitalized along with those stricken by the novel coronavirus in the fall and winter. The season for influenza cases is typically at it highest from mid-December to February.
