NRF says Americans plan to cut back for Christmas

American consumers on average plan to spend $997.70 on gifts and other holiday-related purchases this year, down about $50 from 2019, according to a survey of 7,660 adults by the National Retail Federation. A separate survey by Accenture found that consumers plan to spend $540 for the holidays.
