Hope fades for Kmart and Sears as stores keep closing

Eighty-six stores — Kmart (34) and Sears (52) — remain open under parent company Transformco’s management. At least 30 of those are in the process of closing or available for lease. What little hope that remained for the two once iconic retailers has disappeared.
