Site seeks to help Canadian merchants fight the Amazon effect

More than 4,000 businesses across Canada have signed on to Not-Amazon.ca. The site provides a directory of local merchants that have a website and offer pickup or delivery. Small and medium-sized businesses represent more than half of the gross domestic product of Canada. Forty percent of those have laid off workers during the pandemic and 20 percent have put off rent payments.
