Amazon to pay $61.7M fine for failing to pay tips to Fleet drives

The Federal Trade Commission has fined Amazon.com $61.7 million after discovering that a payment policy change made by the company in 2016, that was not communicated to those affected, resulted in Flex delivery drivers being shorted on tips they should have received. Flex drivers use their own vehicles to deliver groceries and other packages to Prime Now and Whole Foods’ customers.
