Study finds U.S. college women at risk for ‘period poverty’

Fourteen percent of college women are unable to afford feminine hygiene products such as tampons, menstrual pads and cup at some point during the school year, according to a study from George Mason University. The number is even more pronounced among minorities, with 25 percent of Latina and 19 percent of Black women unable to afford these items.
