Burger King plays up LGBTQ support amid calls for Chick-fil-A boycott

Burger King tweeted this weekend that it would donate 40 cents of every Ch-King sandwich sold this month (Pride month) to The Human Rights Campaign, which advocates fro LGBTQ rights. “This is a community we love dearly and have proudly supported over the years, so we couldn’t miss an opportunity to take action and help shine a light on the important conversation happening,” said a Burger King spokesperson. Burger King sent out it tweet after calls were made to boycott the rival Chick-fil-A chain over its CEO’s contribution to an organization that lobbies against equal legal rights for LGBTQ people.
