Fred Meyer, QFC workers end strike after one day

Late Thursday night, Fred Meyer management presented union workers with a contract settlement including $36 million earmarked for wage increases. Workers took to picket lines on Friday but the union and management returned to the negotiating table and worked out a deal that is now scheduled for ratification vote. “The fully recommended settlement agreement includes significant wages, added workplace protections, a secure retirement, and quality healthcare,” said Miles Eshaia said communications coordinator with the United Food and Commercial Workers Union Local 555.
