Personal Spending Up, But Less Than Expected

Spending by U.S. consumers rose by 0.4 percent in November and personal incomes increase by 0.5 percent, according to the Commerce Department’s report this morning. Economists see it as a slowdown, however, now that tax rebate spending has trailed off.
