October 5, 2022
Amazon.com suspended 50 workers with pay at a warehouse in Staten Island, NY, after a fire broke out at the facility. The workers, who are part of the only Amazon warehouse that has unionized, said that they did not feel safe going back to work after a fire broke out in a trash compactor machine, leaving the building smelling of smoke.
