Spammer Gets Jail

A jury found Jeremy Jaynes and Jessica DeGroot guilty of three felony charges each for using phony Internet addresses to send spam to thousands of Internet users. The jury recommended Mr. Jaynes receive nine years in jail and that his sister, Ms. Degroot, be fined $7,500 for violating the state of Virginia’s anti-spamming laws.
