Louis Fortunoff, executive vice president of the jewelry and home-furnishings retailer that bears his family name, says the decision was made by the family to sell a major stake in the company because, “We’ve come very far as a family business, but we really needed this transaction to take place [to] allow us to do things we could only dream of doing.”
