ReposiTrak, the operator of the world’s largest food supply chain network comprising nearly 30,000 retailers, wholesalers, and suppliers, has unveiled its latest offering, the ReposiTrak Recall Management solution. Leveraging its extensive infrastructure and traceability solutions, ReposiTrak aims to enhance the speed and precision of the recall process, ensuring a safer food supply chain.
Chairman and CEO Randy Fields highlights the significant impact product recalls can have on businesses, including financial losses, damaged customer trust, and potential legal consequences. Recognizing the need for a dedicated recall solution, ReposiTrak utilizes its supply chain platform’s capabilities to identify the precise location of any product in the supply chain and facilitate its removal efficiently.
The Recall Management solution relies on the ReposiTrak Traceability Network, designed to exceed the FDA’s updated food traceability regulation (FSMA 204) without requiring new hardware, software, or labeling steps. The Traceability Network is currently adopted by more than 8% of retail grocery stores, 1,100 suppliers, and 20 distribution centers in the United States, enjoying the support of the National Grocers Association as a cost-effective and easy-to-implement food traceability solution.
By expanding the use of the ReposiTrak Traceability Network, ReposiTrak enhances its recall capabilities, allowing real-time visibility of inventory levels and locations from distribution centers to stores. The solution enables rapid trace-back of products through lot-level tracking, facilitating quick and accurate recalls. Other features of the Recall Management solution include validation of recall requests, notifications and alerts throughout the recall process, retrieval of inventory information, recall status indications, and summary reports.
The ReposiTrak Recall Management solution provides an effective and comprehensive recall management system for the food supply chain industry, ensuring consumer safety and safeguarding brand reputations.
