Wendy’s Is Offering Free Kids’ Meals. Here’s How To Get Them

August 13, 2024

Wendy’s has announced that it is offering free kids’ meals for a limited time. The offer became available as of Monday, Aug. 12. But, of course, there are some parameters to follow before you can qualify for the promotion. Let’s take a look at the details.

Wendy’s Free Kids’ Meals Through the App

In a press release shared with RetailWire, it was revealed that fans of Wendy’s can use the digital offer only in the Wendy’s app starting on Aug. 12 to receive a free Wendy’s Kids’ Meal with a premium combination purchase.

In every Wendy’s Kids’ Meal, you get a fresh, never-frozen beef hamburger, cheeseburger, or four-piece chicken nuggets, Jr. Hot & Crispy fries or Apple Bites, and a kid’s drink. So go ahead and treat yourself to a Baconator made with fresh, never-frozen beef or a Classic or Spicy Chicken Sandwich. Better yet, now is the ideal time to sample the new Saucy Nuggs and get a free dinner for the kids as well.

The much-loved Art Time Machine toys are available for a limited time in Wendy’s Kids’ Meals. Kids will get one of five craft kits that showcase historical art forms, including pop art, Egyptian hieroglyphics, prehistoric cave paintings, Renaissance inventions, and abstract landscape paintings, just in time to go back to school.

The news of the free Kids’ Meal comes hot on the heels of Burger King’s similar announcement about its limited-time free kids’ meals, which is a part of the chain’s “back-to-school” promotion. The King Jr. Meal is a freebie available to all Burger King reward members with a $10 purchase.

Both freebies require the app downloaded and customer participation.

Latest Food Promotion

This is just the latest food promotion offered by the fast-food giant. Earlier this month, an official press release revealed that Wendy’s is offering unlimited $1 Frosty treats for the rest of the summer.

“As summer ends, Wendy’s is giving fans a celebratory treat that can’t be beat,” the company said in the announcement. “Fans can choose between the Classic Chocolate Frosty or savor the final days of the seasonally inspired Triple Berry Frosty while supplies last — which combines three of the freshest fruit flavors of the season — strawberry, blackberry and raspberry — into one summer treat.”

Wendy’s $1 small Frosty treats will be available at participating Wendy’s restaurants nationwide until Sept. 15. The Frosty remains the most well-liked beverage at the massive fast-food chain, regardless of whether customers like to sip it, dip it, or scoop it.

Download the app to start earning Rewards points and to receive more scrumptious deals. For every $1 spent, you will receive 10 points that may be redeemed for free merchandise. Additionally, guests can “stack” qualified rewards and incentives to get the most out of their Wendy’s visitation.

The company also recently said that it was banking on breakfast, a regularly strong performer, to make up for its Q2 profits shortfall. This Frosty promotion presumably has the same objective.

Additionally, Wendy’s has announced that $1 Honey Buddies — previously known as the Honey Butter Chicken Biscuit — will be offered through Sept. 30. It is hoped that this, like the Frosty, will make up for the loss disclosed during the Q2 results call.

Wendy’s intends to right the proverbial ship using its breakfast strategy after its Q2 results missed estimates. According to Quartz’s study of the Q2 figures, the fast-food juggernaut triumphed in the breakfast category despite performing poorly overall.

“Breakfast remains an incredibly important daypart,” said Kirk Tanner, CEO of Wendy’s, during the earnings call. “It is highly profitable, and we have not yet reached our potential.”
