Wendy’s Is Reportedly Launching SpongeBob SquarePants-Themed ‘Under the Sea’ Frosty

September 25, 2024

Wendy’s is reportedly releasing a SpongeBob SquarePants-themed “Under the Sea” Frosty, which reports suggest will be a pineapple flavor.

According to Delish, a new post by a popular Instagrammer named @mnmtwinz has revealed this new collaboration between the fast-food giant and the popular children’s television show. The account claims that the Frosty with a SpongeBob theme will be available for a brief time starting on Oct. 8. With a tropical twist, Wendy’s traditional Vanilla Frosty is combined with a luscious Pineapple Mango puree in this frozen delicacy.

Wendy’s has not yet commented on this report from the popular Instagram account, though fans have shared their excitement about the potential new flavor in the comments.

“Had it already even better with vodka,” wrote one commenter, while another wrote, “Love my chocolate Frosty, but might try it for SpongeBob. Flavor sounds like it could be good!”

Paramount, the parent entertainment company that owns the rights to the Nickelodeon cartoon, also has not commented on the potential collaboration.

Wendy’s Potential SpongeBob SquarePants Collab

This isn’t the first time that rumors have spread about this collaboration with SpongeBob SquarePants.

The fast-food juggernaut allegedly announced last month that it would be releasing a limited-edition Krabby Patty burger with this Frosty, both of which would go on sale in select locations starting on Oct. 8.

The supposed communication from Wendy’s, which was shared to Reddit, added that the meat-filled Krabby Patty would be topped with “a secret Krabby Patty Sauce, capturing the magic of the iconic fictional sandwich for SpongeBob fans.”

Popverse, which initially reported on the story, reached out to Paramount and Wendy’s for comment, but neither company replied. Executives from both firms have been contacted by RetailWire for comment and clarification. We will keep you updated on any new information as it becomes available.

Last week, too, Wendy’s emerged as the winner of the so-called “fast-food wars” with its recent Halloween-themed promotions and 1-cent cheeseburgers in honor of National Cheeseburger Day, which fell on Sept. 18.
