Perkins To Add Fast-Casual Model of Dining Called Griddle & Go

October 10, 2024

In an attempt to rebrand the longstanding eatery, Perkins is launching a fast-casual model of dining named Griddle & Go. These standalone, smaller establishments deliver the menu items Perkins customers love in a downscaled model compared to a traditional Perkins restaurant.

According to Nation’s Restaurant News, the company is calling Griddle & Go an “elevated café experience.” This smaller-style restaurant will have a 1,500-square-foot footprint and seating for 65 customers. This type of restaurant will cater to areas that may not be able to house the size of a traditional Perkins restaurant. The model will get some upgrades via the addition of digital menu boards and kiosks to drive speed and convenience for on-the-go customers.

Perkins President Toni Ronayne said in a statement, “Perkins Griddle & Go offers the same great value and quality that have made Perkins a beloved brand, now in a more accessible, convenient, and affordable format. We couldn’t be more excited to invite guests into this new model and continue to delight them with high-quality meals at affordable prices that keep them nourished as they go about their busy lives. The smaller footprint model allows us to drive brand growth and to reach guests where they are by expanding into premier real estate including colleges, casinos, C-stores, and more.”

Will the Same Menu Items Be Available at Griddle & Go?

Just like traditional Perkins restaurants, the Griddle & Go concept will be open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and it will also have bakery options. These will include Perkins’ signature dishes, such as Griddle Greats, pies, and Mammoth Muffins. However, Griddle & Go will also differentiate itself with a menu that includes new categories of breakfast sandwiches, lighter calorie fare, and new burgers and sandwiches.

Ronayne added, “We are constantly evolving to create new foods and experiences that are relevant to today’s customer. Griddle & Go provides hand-crafted, culturally inspired, and generously portioned food. All our plates will leave you full, and with money still in your pocket. We look forward to welcoming guests into our new restaurant and meeting them at the places in their [lives] that are most convenient.”

The first Griddle & Go location will open in late October.
