Prediction: 12,000 Stores to Close in 2009

According to Howard Davidowitz of Davidowitz & Associates Inc., the U.S. market will operate with about 12,000 fewer stores by the end of 2009. And yet, as per Gregory Segall of Versa Capital Management Inc., consumer choice would not be affected even if 50,000 stores closed.
