Burger King has joined the fast-food pickle craze by revealing a new side order for fans to enjoy: pickle fries. Let’s take a look at what we know about this new menu addition.

PEOPLE reported that a flavorful seasoning is used to batter and bread the fried dill pickle spears, which are served with Hidden Valley Ranch sauce. While supplies last, they are offered nationwide in a single size.

So far, customers have already shared some positive feedback about Burker King’s pickle fries. One TikToker said in a review, “You just really can’t go wrong with a pickle breaded and fried, dipped in Ranch. And these are hot and fresh too. Very crispy, nice and salty…Now listen, between pickle chips and pickle fries, these aren’t the best I ever had, but I’m gonna give them a 7.5 out of 10.”

These new fries seem like the perfect complement to Burger King’s Fried Pickle Ranch Whopper, one of its three fan-submitted Million Dollar Whopper finalists. On Thursday, Nov. 14, the fast-food giant added the three contest finalists to the menu. Fans then began voting between the Fried Pickle Ranch Whopper, the Maple Bourbon BBQ Whopper, and the Mexican Street Corn Whopper to choose which burger should win the $1 million prize.

As a “thanks a million” to BK fans who entered the Million Dollar Whopper Contest, Burger King announced recently that it would be selling 1 million original Whoppers for just $1 starting on Nov. 12.

Earlier this month, Burger King also launched a collaboration with Hidden Valley Ranch to offer 8-ounce “Big Dip” containers of the sauce — a substantial change from the typical 1-ounce amount. Since Oct. 16, select locations in New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago, Miami, Dallas, Houston, and San Francisco have offered Big Cups for free when paired with any sandwich.

In October, Burger King debuted four new Addams Family-themed menu items for Halloween: Churro Fries, Thing’s (onion) Rings, a chocolate milkshake, and a purple-bunned Whopper.

Jimmy John’s Also Joined the Pickle Craze

But Burger King isn’t the only restaurant getting in on the dilly goodness. By introducing a new low-carb sandwich with a pickle twist, Jimmy John’s adopted a completely different approach to the “gluten-free” trend, which it unveiled earlier this month.

The sandwich giant announced the launch of its new Picklewich in a press release. This creation has all the features of a classic Jimmy John’s sandwich, but it has a twist: a large kosher dill pickle serves as the bread, making it juicy, crispy, and satisfying.

From Monday, Oct. 28 to Thursday, Nov. 14, participating stores nationwide served this ultimate mashup, which combines Jimmy John’s signature Jimmy Pickles and unmatched sandwiches.

To complement the Picklewich, the eatery brought back the popular Pickle Jimmy Chips. Pickles add a salty, sour, dilly, and delicious flavor to original Jimmy Chips, which are made with thickly sliced potatoes, real salt, and 100% peanut oil.

Best of all, on Nov. 3, National Sandwich Day, Freaky Fast Reward Members who purchased any 8-inch sandwich received 50% off the brand-new Picklewich.

The massive sandwich chain has never shied away from trying out new varieties. It unveiled a new Mediterranean menu with Italian and Greek-inspired dishes this past summer. Two of the collection’s previously revealed wraps are the Mediterranean Veggie Wrap and the Mediterranean Chicken Wrap, both of which come with Sabra Roasted Red Pepper Hummus.

“At Jimmy John’s, we want our guests to experience the flavors of the Mediterranean without having to pack their bags,” said Kate Carpenter, vice president of marketing, in a statement accompanying the announcement at the time. “Our new Mediterranean Wraps do just that — they capture the vibrant and refreshing flavors of the warm weather months, helping our guests savor every last bite of summer.”
