Burger King Gave Away Free Cheeseburgers This Week — When’s the Next Time You Can Get Them?

December 31, 2024

Burger King is closing out the year by giving away free cheeseburgers to its longtime customers.

Allrecipes confirmed that this week, the business offered complimentary cheeseburgers for a single day. Yes, as part of Burger King’s “most Whopperful time of the year” event, you could get a free bacon cheeseburger with a purchase of $1 or more. The deal was only available on Monday, Dec. 30.

If you were busy on Monday, you can still get a deal today on the last day of BK’s event. When you stop by your local restaurant on New Year’s Eve, you will receive 25 loyalty points for every $1 spent.

So, when can you get your next freebies from BK? So far, the fast-food chain has offered some sort of freebie every month. For example, the company gave away free chicken sandwiches on Dec. 27 and free Jr. King meals on Dec. 13. There’s no reason to think that there won’t be more freebies available to customers next month, too.

Is Burger King Suffering a ‘Death of Loyalty’?

The highly competitive fast-food industry has been hampered by macroeconomic factors, including supply chain issues and general inflation. The latter is making consumers with limited funds more attentive to the value that chains provide.

RETHINK Retail has alluded to a possible “death of loyalty” in the fast-food sector, emphasizing the danger of losing burger-and-fries fans who were once brand loyal.

It should be clear that omnichannel experiences are appealing to today’s fast-food consumers. Restaurants like KFC and Burger King can increase profits by providing easy ways for customers to order food and drinks. In-person ordering, online ordering in advance, online delivery platform ordering, and merchandise and app offers for real brand loyalists are all examples of omnichannel experiences.

Quick-service restaurants are using loyalty applications in large numbers to try to increase retention. In Burger King’s case, that entails using the BK rewards app to get free food. Regaining the interest of low-income consumers (those earning less than $50,000 annually) is especially difficult because they frequently have to choose between a pre-packaged item from the grocery store or convenience store or an inexpensive offer from BK or McDonald’s.
