Jennifer Aniston Gives Celebrity Boost to SkinnyPop’s Brand Refresh

March 3, 2025

Jennifer Aniston has partnered with SkinnyPop for a new 30-second promotional spot introducing the brand’s new packaging.

Aniston fronts the brand’s “Popular for a Reason” campaign. The spot is currently airing on social media and television.

The actor is seen trying to check into a hotel while eating a bag of SkinnyPop. The desk attendants become flustered — not because they recognize her, but because of the popcorn. The spot pokes fun at Aniston’s status as a celebrity while putting the product’s new packaging front and center.

The former “Friends” star is well-known for her commitment to living a healthy lifestyle. Therefore, Ryan Riess, VP of brand strategy and creative at Hershey, told ADWEEK that he believes Aniston “embodies the ethos” of the brand, which is “highlighting a better for you lifestyle and showcasing a high-quality product that is enjoyable for many occasions, including watching awards shows.”

To PEOPLE, Aniston said of the spot, “It was fun and effortless and I always enjoy poking fun at myself. We laughed the whole time, which is something we all need these days.”

ADWEEK reported that the spot was created by the agency Erich & Kallman. It aired on March 2, 2025, during the 97th annual Academy Awards on ABC.

Why Is SkinnyPop so Popular?

SkinnyPop is a popular brand of ready-to-eat popcorn known for its simple ingredients and healthier snack profile. The Hershey-owned brand was founded in 2010 and has since become a widely recognized name in the snack industry. The brand’s rise in popularity is due to its use of minimal ingredients (its classic version contains only popcorn, sunflower oil, and salt), and its marketing as a low-calorie, high-fiber, GMO- and gluten-free snack.

SkinnyPop’s success comes from its ability to combine health, convenience, and taste into one package. It caters to a growing demand for clean-label snacks while maintaining a crunchy, satisfying flavor, making it a staple in many households.

“To us,” SkinnyPop says on its website, “that means using the fewest, cleanest, and simplest ingredients possible to bring you the best tasting popcorn. Whole grain popcorn, natural sunflower oil and the perfect amount of salt combine together to give you a delicious snack that you can feel great about eating every day. That’s the Skinny!”

SkinnyPop’s marketing as a healthier alternative to traditional buttered or heavily processed popcorn has made it a favorite among health-conscious snackers. The brand is widely available in grocery stores, online retailers, and club stores like Costco and Sam’s Club.
