Trader Joe’s Recalls Popular Premade Salad: All the Details
May 2, 2025
Trader Joe’s has recalled a popular premade salad kit due to an undeclared allergen.
Per a store press release, some packages of Sesame Miso Salad with Salmon could contain undeclared milk. Five hundred units of the salad were mistakenly packaged with a sealed packet of Parmesan cheese crumbles instead of a packet of crispy onions.
Those who purchased the salad should check to make sure its use-by codes are not April 28, 2025, or April 29, 2025. These premade salads were sold in 18 states: Alabama, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, North Carolina, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Wisconsin.
Salads that qualify for the recall can be returned to a customer’s local Trader Joe’s store for a full refund. Those with questions may contact Trader Joe’s Customer Relations at 626-599-3817 or send the retailer an email.

Customers who have milk allergies could experience a range of allergic reactions, from mild to severe, after eating a product with undeclared milk. These reactions can include skin rashes, itching, digestive issues, and in severe cases, even life-threatening anaphylaxis, per the County of Los Angeles Public Health website.
In March 2025, Trader Joe’s announced a recall for its Hot Honey Mustard Dressing. Due to a labeling error, that product may contain undeclared allergens of peanut, sesame, soy, and wheat.
