Stores Encouraged to Welcome Food Stamp Recipients

The Agriculture Department (USDA) is looking to overcome the stigma associated with participating in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) by asking retailers that accept the modern form of “food stamps” to let shoppers know their business is appreciated. According to the USDA, $9.20 in economic activity in generated for every $5 in SNAP benefits.
