Consumer confidence in the U.S. rose for the sixth consecutive week, the longest stretch since 2009, according to Bloomberg Consumer Comfort Index. Same-store retail sales in September were up 3.9 percent, beating analysts’ estimates of 3.7 percent, according to Retail Metrics.
