The Chinese e-commerce giant posted earnings ahead of estimates, but its revenues fell short of what analysts were expecting so the company’s stock fell eight percent in premarket trading. Separately, Alibaba took issue with a Chinese government report that it was not doing enough to combat counterfeiting on the site.
