Apple’s new Macs incorporate ‘touch bar’ into keyboards
October 28, 2016
Apple introduced its upgraded line of MacBook Pros yesterday, emphasizing one innovation in particular: a touch-sensitive bar at the top of the keyboard that offers content-relevant functions to replace function keys that previously occupied that space. With the “touch bar,” users will be offered, for example, a volume slider when viewing a video and word suggestions when typing in word processing programs. Apple’s starting-level model — without a touch bar — will retail at $1500. The inclusion of the touch bar in a 13″ model will add $300 to the price.
