Ikea to offer up to four months of paid family leave

While Ikea workers in Sweden may be eligible for 480 days of parental leave with the birth of a new child, in the States, the retailer has been a lot less generous. Don’t expect to see 16 months of time off any time soon for new parents in the U.S., but the four months of paid leave reportedly in the works for Ikea employees will be more akin to the benefits seen at high tech firms in this country than what can be expected in the retail industry.
