Founder Steve Ells named sole CEO of Chipotle

The board at Chipotle named founder Steve Ells as its sole CEO. Monty Moran, the co-CEO who has served in that position since 2009, has resigned, effective immediately. Mr. Ells has promised to focus on improving the customer experience at the chain’s restaurants. Chipotle has seen its sales and stock hit hard after a series of food-borne illness crises last year.
