Entrepreneurs in China have long admired Trump’s business acumen and thought the name would be a natural for their products. Many have successfully registered Trump trademarks for everything from condoms and toilets to pesticide. But the president-elect has not taken the use of his name lightly. His company has filed 126 trademark applications in China over the last decade for the Trump name — 34 this year alone — and with his heightened fame, it’s likely that rate will increase in coming months.
