Limited Stores files for Chapter 11 protection

The parent company of women’s clothing chain The Limited said today that it had filed for bankruptcy in Delaware court. Limited Stores has also announced that it will accept a “stalking horse” bid for its intellectual property and some related assets from Sycamore Partners, a move designed to protect the company from low bids for distressed assets.
