Starbucks rolls out ‘affogato’ ice cream dessert offering in cafes

Having seen success in its upscale Roastery locations with a version of the traditional Italian dessert known as “affogato” — ice cream drowned in a shot of hot espresso — Starbucks began adding the offering to its menu in 100 locations yesterday. The new dessert is part of Starbucks’ initiative to introduce “inspired by the Roastery” items to its standard store menu featuring the use of the company’s premium Reserve coffee beans.
