Harris Teeter, which is ranked first in grocery market share in the Charlotte, NC region, managed to pick up share over the past year, while Publix, a newcomer to the market, did the same, according to Chain Store Guide. Walmart and Food Lion, which are ranked second and third for market share in the area, both slipped.
