Black market springs up for used vegetable oil

Last year, 1.4 billion pounds of used vegetable oil was turned into biodiesel fuel. The resulting business opportunity has led to thefts of used oil from restaurants. Last year, $75 million worth of the grease was illegally siphoned from restaurants and sold to refineries, according to the National Renderers Association.
