Trader Joe’s v. Pirate Joe’s is going to court
May 30, 2017
Pirate Joe’s was created because there were no Trader Joe’s stores in Canada. The grocer who buys products from Trader Joe’s in the U.S. and legally resells them north of the border is being sued by the chain for violating its trademark. The owner of Pirate Joe’s, Mike Hallatt, has turned to a crowdfunding site to help him raise $250,000 to mount a defense.
