Albertsons looks for acquisitions with no takers, yet

Albertsons, which is owned by an investment group led by Cerberus Capital, failed to acquire Sprouts Farmers Market after engaging in talks with the natural foods chain. The company hasn’t even gotten that far with Whole Foods, which has so far proven unwilling to entertain a merger with the operator of traditional supermarket chains.
