Macy’s tries to solve customer loyalty puzzle

Nine percent of Macy’s customers account for 46 percent of the company’s sales, but most of its shoppers are not nearly as loyal. Now the department store chain is trying to figure out what it can do to get a higher percentage of its shoppers to stick with it. A new loyalty program, scheduled for launch in the fourth quarter, may or may not be the answer.
