Walgreens may need a Plan B if Rite Aid deal falls through

Walgreens Boots Alliance has invested a lot of resources in pursuing its acquisition of Rite Aid, but the deal may never go through if the Federal Trade Commission files suit to block it. The agency, according to reports, is concerned that Fred’s will not be able to handle taking over 1,200 Rite Aid stores, whose sale is a condition for the FTC to let the deal go through.
