The Home Depot announced yesterday that it had reached a deal to acquire Compact Power Equipment for $265 million. The all-cash deal will lead to Compact’s equipment rental and maintenance business being integrated with Home Depot’s stores as part of the chain’s efforts to attract professionals in the construction business.
