As consumers cut their cords, Comcast ramps up its smart home services

Consumers have lots of streaming service options these days from the likes of Hulu, Amazon and Netflix, and many are ending their cable TV subscriptions. In order to diversify, Comcast has seen success selling a range of smart home services, for example its Xfinity Home security service, which is bundled with Xfinity Internet for an additional $10 a month. Customers can buy up to six security cameras for $99 each as part of the package. The monthly fee includes installation, cloud storage for the video recordings and the ability to create and share video clips.
