Burger King creates its own Russian cryptocurrency

With Burger King’s new Bitcoin-type currency scheme, launched in Russia, customers earn one WhopperCoin for every rouble they spend at the chain. Although similar to earning traditional loyalty points, WhopperCoins can be transferred and traded online so that customers can gift them to friends or sell them via what in essence amounts to a cryptocurrency exchange.
