1,000 Gordy’s employees notified of possible layoff

Wisconsin-based Gordy’s Markets is currently the subject of a receivership to find suitable buyers, meaning its assets are being held by a third party while buyers for the company are sought. With no buyers forthcoming, the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development on Wednesday sent notice to 1,000 employees working at Gordy’s 25 stores warning of mass layoffs if a deal wasn’t secured.
